Your profile:

- You will be an advocate for health & safety, working safely at all times.
- Preferably you have welding experience but this is not essential, training can be provided.

As part of their commitment to serving their customers they offer an extensive selection of waste water treatment machines for short and long term hire and trials.

You will be part of a small team responsible for on-site activities like installing, servicing and repairing machines as well as the co-ordination of hire business activities.

The role requires a skilled, experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician, used to working from mechanical engineering drawings, ideally from a site based mechanical and electrical background, or a plant maintenance background. The candidate requires the ability to mechanically inspect and problem solve situations that arise on site and to undertake organisational and administrative aspects of the hire business.

This role is based mainly on site at our depot at Rotherham and a company van will be provided for the occasional travel.

Core responsibilities are as follows:

- Co-ordinate hire business activities through the business from receipt of order, including the organisation of external service requirements, the preparation of risk assessments, method statements and crane plans.
- You will conduct site visits to undertake mechanical installation or removal, service and repair of hire machines and associated equipment.
- You will work in the workshop to undertake service and repair of the hire fleet ensuring the machines and associated equipment are fully functional and readily available for hire.
- Liaise with the Regional Field Managers to plan and optimise the use of resources between operational regions in support of the aforementioned activities.
- You will ensure that respective site work is conducted to a satisfactory standard and that all issues arising during the site work are dealt with immediately and in a professional manner.
- Support the Hire Business Manager with site surveys.
- You will manage the relationship with the client on site.
- You will create site reports on completion of the work on site.
- You will maximise time on site by consulting with the Hire Business Manager and internal colleagues to ensure any technical or site issues have been discussed and work is completed satisfactory.
- You will collaborate closely with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- You will enjoy the hands-on aspect of the role and actively participate in site, as well as project preparation work.
